Recommendations: First Appeal.

Every company must offer an appeals service so that "mitigation" can be used to cancel tickets that should not have been issued in the first place. Mitigation is not valid for subsequent stages so you should check the 4 'tests' to see which ones the parking company has failed. For more information on this company's paperwork including details of their letter chain follow this link

Recommendations: Second Appeal.

Do a simple first appeal to get the Parking operator based on the 4 tests. These are Was the car there? (e.g. are there pics and are they time-stamped). Was the parking area marked? (signs and lines are key.). What rules? (They have to be clear and understandable.) Were they broken? (If not, there is nothing owed).

Recommendations: Debt Collectors.

Debt collectors in this area are simple timewasters. They cannot instigate legal action, nor can they cancel a ticket, nor can they affect your credit rating. Communicating with them apart from telling them to refer it back to the client, just wastes your time. What you have to bear in mind is that their only skill is misleading people and they do that to excess.

Recommendations: Court Claims.

Many of the Claims issued are no more than computer generated templates which are termed 'RoboClaims'. Examples are here. If you want to see how to prepare a defence see examples of 'RoboDefence' here. This is not a substitute for a well crafted answer to a claim but it should give you a basic framework as a start.

Their decision to issue a claim is a commercial one - so ask the reason why they think you are a soft touch. Have you given information they needed; or did you admit to something without checking; or more likely, are you on their mugs' list. To get them to drop the claim, make it uneconomical for them to continue.
